How to Remove CE Marking from the Declaration of Conformity for General Consumer Products ?

Updated over 2 months ago

Important Notice

This tutorial applies only to products added to the Euverify Platform before February 26, 2025.

  • If your product was added on or after February 26, 2025, this update is already included, and no action is needed.

Background

Previously, all Declaration of Conformity certificates generated from the Euverify platform contained CE or UKCA marking, even for products that do not require these markings. General consumer products such as books, diaries, furniture, and jewellery do not need CE or UKCA marking.

If your product does not require CE/UKCA marking, follow these steps to update your product. This will ensure that instead of a Declaration of Conformity, a Declaration of Compliance is generated, which is required for GPSR-compliant products.

Step-by-Step Process to Remove CE Marking

1. Access Your Product Listing

  • Go to the Dashboard and navigate to the Products section.

2. Select the Product to Update

  • Find the product that does not require CE/UKCA marking.

  • Click on the product to open its details.

For example, let's update a product called “Simply Diary.”

3. Edit the Compliance Declaration

  • Locate the EC Doc and UKCA Doc section on the right side.

  • Click the Edit button under these sections.

4. Update the CE/UKCA Marking Requirement

  • Scroll down to the product description section.

  • You will see the question: “Does your product require CE/UKCA marking?”

  • Select “No” if your product does not require CE/UKCA marking and falls under GPSR instead of other directives.

  • Click Save and then Update.

5. Download the Updated Document

  • After updating, download the EC Doc or UK DoC file.

  • The new certificate will now be labeled as “Certificate of Compliance” instead of “Declaration of Conformity”.

  • The CE/UKCA mark will be removed from the document.

Final Note

This update ensures that your product declarations align with GPSR compliance and do not incorrectly display CE or UKCA marking where it is not required.
